About Us
RRITOBAK began in 2014 when a young entrepreneur, driven by a deep love for literature and inspired by friends, transformed a monthly blog into an independent publication. What started as a passion project soon grew into a platform dedicated to publishing unconventional voices and introducing powerful new writers to readers.
In 2016, RRITOBAK marked an important milestone by appearing at the Kolkata International Book Fair with its first set of published titles, establishing its presence in the state’s literary scene. Over the years, the publication expanded steadily, bringing out more than 100 original titles across diverse genres by some of the most promising contemporary writers.
Like much of the publishing industry, RRITOBAK faced significant challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic. Yet, with resilience and determination, it emerged stronger, exploring new avenues to continue its literary journey.
Since 2022, RRITOBAK has further strengthened its commitment to literature by instituting an annual literary award for promising writers and hosting a memorial lecture every year on 30 August, marking the anniversary of the dream called RRITOBAK.”
২০১৪ সাল। এক তরুণ ব্যবসায়ী তাঁর জীবনের একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়ে ফেললেন। সাহিত্য ছিল রক্তে। সেই দায়বদ্ধতা থেকেই যেন এতদিন মাসিক যে ব্লগটি তিনি প্রকাশ করছিলেন, তাকে রূপ দিলেন পূর্ণাঙ্গ প্রকাশনার। ঋতবাক নামে একটি স্বপ্নের জন্ম হল। ব্যক্তিগত উদ্দীপনা আর বন্ধুদের সহায়তায় পরবর্তী দুবছরের মধ্যেই ঋতবাক কলকাতা আন্তর্জাতিক বইমেলায় আত্মপ্রকাশ করল একগুচ্ছ নানান বিষয়ভিত্তিক বই নিয়ে। এর পরের বছরগুলিতে আর পিছন ফিরে তাকানোর অবকাশ ছিল না। প্রকাশিত বইয়ের সংখ্যা ততদিনে একশো ছাড়িয়ে গেছে। এমন সময় অতর্কিতে হানা দিল কোভিড। অন্যদের মতো ঋতবাকও এর আঁচ থেকে রেহাই পেল না। কিন্তু ফিনিক্সের মতোই ধ্বংস থেকে উঠে দাঁড়ালো আবার। ২০২২ থেকে শুরু হল ঋতবাক ‘ সাহিত্য পুরস্কার ‘ এবং ‘ স্মারক বক্তৃতা ‘। বেছে নেওয়া হল ৩০ আগস্ট দিনটি। এই স্বপ্নের জন্ম যেদিন।
