About Us
In 2014 a young entrepreneur set out on an unknown path. Driven by an inherent love for literature and inspired by friends she transformed what until then was a monthly blog into a publication.
RRITOBAK was born and with it the birth of a dream took place. The going has never been a cakewalk as it embarked on the arduous route, publishing the off-beat stuff and introducing the new but powerful pens to the readers.
In 2016 RRITOBAK announced its arrival on the literary scene of the state as it made an appearance at the Kolkata International Book Fair with the hitherto published titles for the first time. What followed in the coming years was nothing short of extraordinary.
RRITOBAK cruised past 100 odd original titles from varied genres by some of the finest contemporary minds. The onslaught of the COVID epidemic was severe in the publishing industry and RRITOBAK, too, had to bear the brunt. But undeterred it rose again from despair looking for newer avenues to flourish.
Since 2022 RRITOBAK has started a literary award for a promising writer and a memorial lecture on 30 August every year, the day the dream called RRITOBAK saw the light of the day.
২০১৪ সাল। এক তরুণ ব্যবসায়ী তাঁর জীবনের একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়ে ফেললেন। সাহিত্য ছিল রক্তে। সেই দায়বদ্ধতা থেকেই যেন এতদিন মাসিক যে ব্লগটি তিনি প্রকাশ করছিলেন, তাকে রূপ দিলেন পূর্ণাঙ্গ প্রকাশনার। ঋতবাক নামে একটি স্বপ্নের জন্ম হল। ব্যক্তিগত উদ্দীপনা আর বন্ধুদের সহায়তায় পরবর্তী দুবছরের মধ্যেই ঋতবাক কলকাতা আন্তর্জাতিক বইমেলায় আত্মপ্রকাশ করল একগুচ্ছ নানান বিষয়ভিত্তিক বই নিয়ে। এর পরের বছরগুলিতে আর পিছন ফিরে তাকানোর অবকাশ ছিল না। প্রকাশিত বইয়ের সংখ্যা ততদিনে একশো ছাড়িয়ে গেছে। এমন সময় অতর্কিতে হানা দিল কোভিড। অন্যদের মতো ঋতবাকও এর আঁচ থেকে রেহাই পেল না। কিন্তু ফিনিক্সের মতোই ধ্বংস থেকে উঠে দাঁড়ালো আবার। ২০২২ থেকে শুরু হল ঋতবাক ‘ সাহিত্য পুরস্কার ‘ এবং ‘ স্মারক বক্তৃতা ‘। বেছে নেওয়া হল ৩০ আগস্ট দিনটি। এই স্বপ্নের জন্ম যেদিন।
